HABITAT DESCRIPTION:
NATURE SERVE GLOBAL HABITAT COMMENTS:

Rocky hillsides, meadows, along stream courses and river bottoms, canyons and arroyos, barnyards, abandoned houses and ranch buildings, near springs, in caves (near entrance), and wooded areas. Habitat varies geographically; typically the habitat in the east is more wooded than that in the west. Terrestrial and arboreal. Stays hidden by day. On Grand Cayman Island, associated with shrubbery and imported trees from Miami, Florida.

Clutches have been found at the edge of an abandoned sawdust pile (Ashton and Ashton 1981).
